Farm Credit Services of America : Everything You Need To Grow
Patronage Program

Proud to share the success

Farm Credit Services of America is, financially, one of the strongest lenders in agriculture. And because of that financial strength, we are able to offer a patronage program for our customers.

More than the results of a "good year," the patronage payment represents good business, and the effort of every employee working to help our customers grow. Patronage provides a unique opportunity for our customers to share in our net earnings.

Our patronage program is based on each eligible customer's contribution to the company's net interest income and related fees. So, the more financing you have with us, the more you will benefit, financially, from patronage.

What you should know about patronage

The Farm Credit Services of America Patronage Program is an exclusive financial benefit for eligible customers who obtain financing from us. Patronage is a return of a portion of our net earnings to eligible customers who have financing with us, including AgDirect® and Country Home Loans® financing.

  • We are able to offer patronage payments because of the financial strength we have achieved — a strength that can help us weather unexpected changes in the agricultural economy while supporting future growth and sustaining a cash patronage program in the years to come.

  • Patronage dividends are based on an eligible customer's financing during the calendar year for which the patronage is calculated.

  • We will continue to offer competitive interest rates in addition to the Patronage Program.

  • Payments are comprised of two components: a cash payment and a non-cash portion that remains in the Association's retained earnings.

  • Cash patronage payments are taxable. We encourage recipients to consult with their tax advisors about their specific situations. The non-cash patronage distribution is not taxable unless it is redeemed, which the board does not intend to do except in the unlikely event of liquidation.

  • The FCSAmerica board will evaluate a variety of business factors, including earnings, growth and economic conditions to determine the appropriate amount of cash patronage to distribute to eligible customers each year. The program is expected to pay some cash amount annually, but the amount is not predetermined.
